On Monday, March 11, Sweden will officially join the North Atlantic Alliance. This was reported by the Swedish TV channel TV4 Nyheterna.


Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and Commander-in-Chief of the Swedish Armed Forces Micael Bydén will arrive at NATO headquarters in Brussels to attend the ceremony of signing the act of accession.


"The Swedish flag will be raised at NATO Headquarters in Brussels on Monday afternoon. This will mark the beginning of NATO membership," the statement said.


As a reminder, Sweden applied for NATO membership together with Finland on May 18, 2022, in connection with the war in Ukraine. Thus, Sweden will become the 32nd member of the North Atlantic Alliance.
