There is no demobilization during the war in ordinary legislation, no one was counting on it - Zelensky

Ukrainian mobilization legislation was developed in peacetime and does not meet the requirements of wartime, in particular, the issue of demobilization. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with French journalists.

"There are debates among parliamentarians, they argue about when it is possible to discharge guys, when not, which of them can be discharged, etc. There is no demobilization during the war in the regular legislation. No one was counting on it. Therefore, there are various issues: rotation, vacations," the Ukrainian leader said.

According to Zelensky, there is "a lot of misinformation" around mobilization issues.

Answering the question whether Ukraine plans to conduct a large-scale mobilization, the head of state said: "There has been mobilization in Ukraine from the very beginning of the war and it continues every few months."

"There is a corresponding number of people who are mobilized every month and every quarter. And these numbers are all available in the General Staff, and they are were," he said, adding that there are further mobilization steps envisaged by the General Staff.
