Zakarpattia TCC commented on the suicide attempt: Nobody beat him, he was inadequate, probably used drugs

On March 16, the media reported that a Ukrainian detained while trying to flee abroad attempted to commit suicide in the toilet of the military commissariat. The Zakarpattia Regional TCC gave an official comment on the incident.

The military commissariat reported that it was Yevhen Volodymyrovych Khabarov, born in 1996, who is registered in Kharkiv. The incident occurred within the walls of the Khust District TCC on March 14. The day before, on March 13, border guards detained the man while he was attempting to illegally cross the border and sent him to clarify his military registration data. During the medical examination in Irshava, Khabarov stated that he had no confidence in the MMC, so he was transferred to the TCC in Khust.

The Zakarpattia regional TCC emphasized that the offender behaved "inadequately" in the Khust military commissariat. He attempted suicide in the restroom of the guard company.

As explained by the press service, the duty officer noticed that the Ukrainian did not leave the toilet for a long time. Then he entered the room and found the conscript on the floor, unconscious and with traces of blood nearby. Khabarov received emergency medical care and was hospitalized.

"He had minor scratches on both forearms, which could indicate a suicide attempt. Doctors noted that the hospitalized man was in a hysterical state. The doctors also stated that this condition could be caused by the use of drugs or substances," the TCC said.

It is reported that later a a tablet of the drug "Hidazepam", which is used for neurotic, psychopathic asthenia, was found in the man's underwear. Five out of ten pills were missing.

The Zakarpattia Regional TCC claims that no physical force was used against Khabarov at the military commissariat, and that he "could have inflicted the scratches on his face himself for the purpose of simulation."

"We call on the public to stop manipulating this issue and not to cast a shadow on the TCC employees who are performing their tasks with dignity," the press service added.

It should be noted that the mobilized man's relatives claim that the man was kidnapped from a hotel in Vynohradiv. They claim that the man was beaten in the Khust TCC until he decided to commit suicide.
