Slovakia will support Ukraine's accession to the EU - Fico

Slovakia will not put obstacles on Ukraine's path to the European Union (EU). Bratislava wants to help Kyiv with its integration. This was announced by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico during a briefing with his Ukrainian counterpart Denys Shmyhal.

 

According to Fico, his country will take part in the Global Peace Summit to be held in Switzerland on June 15-16.

 

Summarizing the meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart, Fico said that the parties had approved a roadmap for cooperation between the two countries.

 

In particular, the prime minister condemned Russian aggression, saying that the invasion was a violation of international agreements.

 

He added that Kyiv and Bratislava could cooperate in the humanitarian and civil spheres. The prime minister also expressed support for Ukraine on its path to the EU.

 

"We are not a country that will put obstacles in your way. On the contrary, we want to help," Fico assured.
