Zelensky: Without US support, we will have no chance of winning

In an interview with PBS, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that if the US Congress does not vote to support Ukraine, there will be no chance of winning.

Asked by a journalist how long the Armed Forces could hold out without this assistance and whether they would be able to repel the Russian offensive expected in the coming months, the president replied:

"I can tell you frankly: without this support, we have no chance of winning. You need to be much stronger than your enemy. Today, our ratio of artillery shells is 1-10. Will we be able to hold on? No. In any case, with such statistics, we will be pushed back every day. In order to protect 100 percent of what is under our control, we will need to move from one to a comparison of numbers, 10-10," Zelensky said.

Zelensky did not directly answer the journalist's question whether this amount would allow him to hold the territories or launch a counteroffensive and break through the Russian defense. He said that Russia outnumbers Ukraine in manpower and weapons.

"How can we destroy them? The plan is very simple. It is clear. It exists. There are specific weapons that we need to get. There are specific weapons to protect the sky. This plan exists. Moreover, all partners are holding it in their hands. This is a plan for what we really need," the president said.

Zelensky added: "I hope that they (in the US Congress) listen to us and make a decision in the coming days, weeks, but not longer."
