Zelensky: Ukraine is ready for negotiations, but not with Russia

Ukraine is ready for negotiations, but not with Russia, as Putin does not really want them. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with PBS.

"All their stories, our intelligence documents, what they are talking about, we know from our intelligence. We have it from the United States. They know the same thing. So we understand that he is not ready for any negotiations. He doesn't want to. He is not interested. This is not a victory for him. He needs a victory. And for him, victory means destroying Ukraine," the president said.

That is why Ukraine promotes its "peace formula" and gathers world summits without the participation of Russia so that Moscow "does not block this plan."

When asked by a journalist whether the conditions of the negotiations would eventually become worse than they are now, Zelensky replied that Russia was not interested in dialogue.

In addition, Zelensky said that the West fears Russia's defeat in Ukraine because of the threat of the spread of nuclear weapons and the strengthening of China, which will seize part of the Russian Federation's territories.

"There are voices from the West saying that we are afraid. What will happen to Russia if it loses? Aren't they afraid that we are dying here every day? But they are very afraid that there will be some kind of danger, some kind of migration crisis. That maybe China will be very strong. And if Russia panics and starts a revolution, China will take over part of Russia's territory, and so on. That's why everyone is afraid. God forbid, China will be strong. God forbid, there will be no Putin and there will be many countries (on the territory of Russia). What will happen to Russia's nuclear weapons?" Zelensky said.
