Ukraine's ambassador spoke about the US position on the attacks on Russian oil refineries: There were no signals of prohibition of strikes

Ukraine's Ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova said in an interview that she had never personally received any official messages from the Americans regarding the prohibition of the AFU to strike Russian refineries.

She commented on the statement by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin about the need to avoid strikes on refineries in Russia: "No such official signals have ever been transmitted through me. I claim that there have been no official statements from the United States that we cannot do this."

At the same time, Markarova noted that the Ukrainian military cannot use American weapons outside of Ukraine.

She also noted that the United States does not believe that the Ukrainian Armed Forces should be allowed to use Western weapons against targets in Russia.

She was also asked if there is an opinion in the United States that the Ukrainian Armed Forces should be allowed to use Western weapons against targets in Russia.

Markarova emphasized that she did not think so: "All polls in the United States show that even among people who strongly support providing Ukraine with new weapons, one of the biggest fears is the involvement of the United States in the war. We, of course, explain that in order to prevent the war from expanding, the West must resort to a decisive stop to Russia. But public opinion, the opinion of analytical centers, and President Biden's opinion is different."

According to Markarova, the USA has no strategy for winning a war with "an aggressive nuclear power, a permanent member of the UN Security Council and a state on which many other countries depend and which still determines the state of many resource markets."
