Belarus makes a series of harsh statements against Ukraine and Lithuania: details

Lukashenko said that the Belarusian opposition plans to seize the Kobryn district of the country bordering Ukraine, "declare a new government, appeal to NATO and send in troops."

"At least to seize some, I don't know why they chose Kobryn district, they talk about it a lot. But it is not near the border. There are other districts closer to the border. No, Kobryn district. To seize it, declare power, appeal to NATO, send in troops," said the head of Belarus.

He also claims that Ukraine has deployed 120,000 troops on the border with Belarus and that the likelihood of "armed incidents on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border is quite high."

For his part, KGB chief Ivan Tertel said that Ukraine "has trained up to a thousand militants who are planned to be used to seize a settlement in Belarus." At the same time, according to the KGB, "hidden terrorist cells are being created inside Belarus, which should appear simultaneously with the invasion. There are attempts to transfer weapons from Ukraine."

Tertel also said that a drone attack on targets in Minsk was foiled from the territory of Lithuania.

"The State Security Committee, in cooperation with colleagues from other law enforcement agencies, has recently carried out a number of sharp KGB measures that prevented combat drones from striking targets in Minsk and its suburbs from Lithuania," the KGB chief said.

He did not provide any details, citing the fact that he could not disclose them.

Lithuania reacted to these statements and called them disinformation.

"It is 99% certain that this is disinformation... that Lithuania would have launched a drone attack on Belarus is nonsense, I can't find another word," Gintautas Ciunis, a representative of the Lithuanian Army's Strategic Communication Department, commented on the accusation to LRT.

In addition, the Center for Countering Disinformation at the NSDC of Ukraine also commented on Lukashenko's statements. It believes that Belarus is fulfilling Russia's instructions "to restrain the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Belarusian direction."
