Ukrainian authorities will involve women in the demining process, - Svyridenko

The government intends to involve women in the demining process. This was stated by Vice Prime Minister Yulia Svyridenko.

"The Cabinet of Ministers seeks to ensure the professional fulfillment and social integration of women, veterans, victims of explosive ordnance and people with disabilities through their involvement in mine countermeasures," Svyridenko said.

She explains this initiative as the policy of "gender equality" in Ukraine".

Gender equality is considered as an integral part of Ukraine's policy, which is based on the principles of integration, inclusiveness and integrity. This applies to all types of activities, including such important areas as demining," the Vice Prime Minister said.

It is worth noting that in Ukraine, there are more and more statements about the involvement of women in the performance of tasks in the army.

Earlier, Ihor Lutsenko, the commander of the company of attack drones, announced the formation of a women's UAV unit.

It is planned to create "a small volunteer unit that will deal with unmanned aerial systems, in close integration with the Ukrainian Defense Forces."
