EU agrees to use 90% of proceeds from frozen Russian assets for the benefit of Ukraine - Scholz

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that the EU has reached a consensus on using 90% of the proceeds from frozen Russian assets for Ukraine's military needs. This was reported by Reuters.

The German chancellor confirmed that Berlin supports this idea after a meeting with members of the governments of the three Baltic states in Riga.

“It is important that we also agreed that this money can be used for the purchase of weapons not only in the EU but also around the world,” Scholz said.

The agreement is reportedly in the final stage of approval. The amount is more than 4 billion euros.
