France hands over SCALP missiles to Ukraine that were to be disposed of - media

France has handed over long-range SCALP missiles to Ukraine, which were to be disposed of. This was reported by RFI.

The so-called “cocoons” contained missiles with expiring shelf life but still usable, as well as partially disassembled missiles.

In the long run, they were to be disposed of, but Paris decided to restore them and hand them over to Ukraine, thus not damaging its own strategic arsenal.

They were sent to the manufacturer's plant, where they were restored, tested and shipped to Ukraine in 3 months.

The RFI source calls this a “very effective economic solution.”
