Ukrenergo CEO considers options for power outage schedules in Ukraine due to tense energy situation

Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, Chairman of the Board of NPC Ukrenergo, has warned of a possible return of hourly power outages due to attacks on the Ukrainian energy sector. This will become a reality if there is a significant shortage of electricity, Kudrytskyi said during a briefing.

If the deficit lasts all day, a schedule of hourly outages will be introduced, when Ukrenergo will limit consumption and distribute electricity among consumers. This measure is an alternative to scheduled outages for industry that last for several days.

Kudrytskyi also explained that the restrictions on electricity supply to industry at night are due to the lack of electricity imports and the impossibility to receive emergency assistance from neighboring countries.
