Evacuation of the population continues in Kharkiv and Sumy regions: authorities provide details

Since the beginning of the Russian offensive in the north of Kharkiv region, 7,531 civilians have been evacuated, including 568 children and 201 people with disabilities. This was announced by the head of the Kharkiv RMA, Oleh Synegubov, during a telethon.

“The evacuation continues, but it is getting more complicated every day, every minute, because in fact hostilities are already taking place in the city (Vovchansk). The evacuation will continue until we evacuate all the people, regardless of the applications we have,” said Synegubov.

He noted that up to 200 people remain in Vovchansk.

Regarding the construction of the fortifications, he promised not only to hold a meeting with the contractors and report on it, but also to hold a press conference where journalists will be able to ask questions.

He said that the construction was difficult, more than 30 pieces of equipment were damaged by shelling, and 4 civilian construction workers were killed.

In addition, the head of the Sumy RMA, Volodymyr Artyukh, said that evacuation is being conducted in the region in places where the Russian Federation may attack.

“We have received this information, Sumy RMA communicates with the military command 24/7 and we are acting on this information, as an example, the community of Bilopillia, which suffers from shelling, whose infrastructure was damaged by shelling, the military recommended evacuation there, we are doing it,” said Artyukh.
