An important agreement: Ukraine and the EU agree on funding for the Ukraine Facility

Ukraine and the European Union (EU) have signed a Framework Agreement that regulates financing under the Ukraine Facility. This was announced by Minister of Economy Yulia Svyridenko.

According to the Ministry of Economy, the agreement defines the mechanisms of financial cooperation between Ukraine and the EU, in particular, the management and control of funds under the Ukraine Facility and joint measures to prevent corruption.

The next step is the ratification of the agreement by the Verkhovna Rada, after which the document will enter into force.

Minister Svyridenko noted that the agreement mainly describes procedures for the efficient, transparent and accountable use of financial resources, which is a necessary condition for Ukraine's further European integration.

The agreement provides for:

  • Ensuring transparent use of funds provided by the EU, including regular reporting and compliance with the bloc's sanctions requirements.
  • Close cooperation between Ukrainian authorities and EU institutions to facilitate European integration.

The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, as the national coordinator, will become the key body for interaction with the European Commission and will ensure effective management and monitoring of the use of funds provided by the EU.
