Ukrainians need to be prepared for weekly blackouts. This was announced by Leonid Yemets, a deputy of the Kyiv City Council, during a telethon.

He noted that a serious problem is expected.

“We need to be prepared for serious blackouts, and it is possible that they will be for weeks,” said Leonid Yemets.

Yemets said that Kyiv is preparing for possible blackouts. For this purpose, special equipment for electricity generation has been booked. It is also planned to set up about 20 locations in the capital to provide water and electricity to the citizens. At least all infrastructure facilities will be provided, he emphasized.

The city council member added that if Kyiv is deprived of the ability to receive electricity, “the systems will be properly protected.”
