NBU plans to impose restrictions on P2P transfers: no more than UAH 100 thousand and 30 transactions per month

Ukrainians are going to be limited in their card-to-card money transfers to no more than UAH 100,000 and 30 transactions per month. This was announced by Deputy Head of the National Bank Dmytro Oliynyk.

The decision is justified by counteracting illegal gambling.

“We are considering the possibility of introducing a framework for outgoing P2P transfers from the accounts of individuals in the amount of UAH 100,000 per month and limiting the number of such transfers to 30 per month,” Oliynyk said.

Incoming transactions will not be limited.

At the same time, banks will be able to increase the limits “manually” if there are “grounds and confirmations”.

According to Oliynyk, the innovations are planned to be implemented within a month.

The NBU has also suggested that a register of cards used for illegal activities may be created in the future.
