Drone attacked Voronezh M radar station in Orsk: it is part of the Russian nuclear attack detection system

On May 26, a drone of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine attacked the Voronezh M long-range target detection radar station in Orsk, Orenburg region, 1800 km from the border with Ukraine. The media reported this with reference to a source in Ukrainian intelligence.

“The Ukrainian drone covered a distance of more than 1800 kilometers to the enemy's facility, setting a new record for the range of destruction for kamikaze drones,” the source said.

Neither Ukraine nor Russia officially commented on the strike or its consequences.

However, at night, Russian publics reported that a Ukrainian drone had attacked a military facility in the city of Orsk near Orenburg. It is not known whether the station was hit.

It is worth noting that a similar facility was attacked by a Ukrainian drone on May 23 in Armavir, Krasnodar Krai.

Voronezh M is a long-range radar station that is part of the nuclear attack detection system. According to the Russian military doctrine, an attack on nuclear deterrent facilities can be a pretext for a nuclear strike.
