Men liable for military service with the status of “limited fit” must undergo a second MMC by February 4, 2025

Starting June 1, men liable for military service with a “limited fit” status will have to undergo a second military medical commission to obtain a new status. This is stated in the Law on Ensuring the Rights of Servicemen and Police Officers to Social Protection.

Conscripts who previously had the status of “limitedly fit” must undergo a second medical examination to obtain a new status - fit or unfit for service. The Law of Ukraine 3633-IX “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Certain Issues of Military Service, Mobilization and Military Registration” sets a deadline of February 4, 2025 for the re-examination and updating of data.

Such citizens began to be summoned to the MMC from May 18.

After the MMC, the formerly limitedly fit persons will receive one of the following statuses:

  • unfit for military service - excluded from military registration;
  • unfit for military service with a second re-examination in 6 or 12 months;
  • temporarily unfit - sent for treatment, on leave or temporarily relieved of duty;
  • fit for service only in certain areas: in the TCC, military support units, communications, logistics or medical units, training centers and higher military educational institutions;
  • fit for service - such citizens may be issued a military summons.

They also have to update their military registration data, just like the rest of conscripts.
