New escalation at the front: Russians storm Ukrainian troops' positions

The situation on the frontline has escalated, said Dmytro Pletenchuk, head of the Center for Strategic Communications of the Defense Forces of the South, during a telethon.

According to him, Russian troops are actively attacking the positions of Ukrainian troops in order to escalate the conflict.

Pletenchuk said that on Wednesday, May 29, 19 assault attempts were recorded, 12 of which took place in the Orihiv direction. Most attacks took place in the area of Staromayorske.

In addition, 7 assault attempts were recorded on the left bank, one of them on Nestryha Island, another 6 on Krynky.

Pletenchuk noted that the intensification of Russian actions at the front is connected with the upcoming peace summit in Switzerland.

According to him, this is a typical method of geopolitical pressure for Russians.

Before any international negotiations, even if they are not invited, they escalate the situation on the frontline to strengthen their position or show the importance of agreements with them.
