First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Oleksiy Lyubchenko analyzed the economic results of the visit of the President of Ukraine to the United States on his Facebook page.
“The largest category Ukrainian exports to the United States are digital services exports. Last year, exports of these services totaled $ 998.5 million, more than the exports of all tangible goods. The first half of 2021 showed a 30% growth in the export of IT services (USD 625 million), and therefore the psychological mark of USD 1 billion in exports will be significantly exceeded. These numbers only underscore the importance of the President's meetings in Silicon Valley. The stake on digitalization is the stake for the future, "wrote Oleksiy Lyubchenko.
And noted that during the visit of the Ukrainian delegation to the United States, issues of digital trade were discussed , moments of labor, climate, environmental policy, and other rules that Ukraine, among others, will have to face in the next decade. But the main task for the implementation of relations between the two countries is not only further growth and balancing of trade, but also its reorientation towards goods and services with added value.
" The new quality of bilateral trade and investment cooperation is a priority for the US administration. The Minister of Commerce Gina Raimondo also noted this during the meeting. We share this desire, since the economic transformation of Ukraine is not so much a search for money as a search for technology. Taking into account the rapid development of IT in Ukraine and the need to create new technologies, including as incentives for the development of human capital, we feel an increased responsibility for the protection of intellectual property rights, "said Anatoly Lyubchenko.
According to him, during the several days of the President's visit to the United States, Ukraine's political and strategic aspirations turned into clear and definite parameters of cooperation.
