In the near future, Belarus may join Russia's war against Ukraine. At least, that is what the U.S. and NATO representatives believe. This is reported by CNN.

"The likelihood that Belarus will join the conflict is growing, Putin needs support," said a military representative of NATO on condition of anonymity.

At the same time, a source in the Belarusian opposition said that combat units are ready to deploy to Ukraine in the coming days. According to NATO intelligence, the Belarusian authorities are preparing the ground to justify the Belarusian invasion.

It is assumed that the final decision on the participation of Belarus in the war will be made in Moscow; as of today, there is no evidence that Belarusian units are in Ukraine.

"The question is not what Alexander Lukashenko wants. The question is, does Putin want another unstable country in the region? An intervention would destabilize Belarus," the NATO official added.
