As of today, no cases of cholera have been reported in Ukraine. But because of the devastation there are growing risks in occupied Mariupol.
This is reported by the Ministry of Health.
"Since June 1, more than 440 patients with acute intestinal infections have been examined, among them 165 for cholera infection. Also, six healthy people were examined for preventive purposes. Not a single case of cholera embryos was found," said chief sanitary doctor Igor Kuzin.
At the same time, today it is difficult to obtain information from the temporarily occupied territories, in particular from Mariupol. It is reported that the risks of spread of infectious diseases are growing there. This is due to significant destruction of infrastructure, as a result of which sewage water mixes with drinking and groundwater, there is contamination of wells.
We recall earlier reports that the occupants in Mariupol are preparing an early launch of an infectious disease hospital due to the threat of a cholera outbreak.
