Zelensky named Russia's real goal in the war

Russia has larger goals in its war against Ukraine. The Russian leadership wants to capture not only our state, but other neighboring countries as well.

President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this during an address to NATO.

Garant believes that Russia plans to completely destroy Ukrainian cities by shelling them with heavy weapons. The Russian Federation is already doing this in eastern and southern Ukraine.

"What is it for? What are the bombs for? What are the total artillery strikes for? The Russian army is doing everything to get as many people out of the cities as possible. So that there would be nothing but ruins. And then the so-called "second world army" goes into these cities - already empty and dead. And it doesn't want to stop in Donbas or somewhere in the south of Ukraine," the president noted.

Zelensky said that Russia wants to expand its borders and considers its property the former republics of the USSR. According to him, the Baltic states, Moldova and Poland could be under attack.

"It (Russia, - ed.) city by city wants to absorb so all in Europe, whom the Russian leadership considers its property, not independent states. This is Russia's true goal. The question is, who is next for her? Moldova? The Baltic states? Poland? The answer is all of them. Russia's goals are known. They are obvious. The Russian leadership sees the world differently. Not the way you do. They look, for example, at Lithuania - not as a member of your alliance, but as a republic of the Soviet Union. For us it is the former republic of the USSR; for us it is the past, while they see it as a possible future republic; they want to enslave it again," the President explained.

The Ukrainian leader warned NATO members that the situation could worsen within a year, which would lead to "real failure" of the alliance. Since members of the defence alliance might be hit by Russia.

We shall remind you that Volodymyr Zelensky also said in his address to NATO that his participation in the next summit would be an evidence of Ukraine's victory.
