Intelligence named the number of military personnel of Belarus near Ukraine and estimated the risk of attack

Belarus has concentrated seven battalion tactical groups near the borders. Now their goal is to keep the AFU in suspense and prevent our command from sending more fighters to the east.

This was reported by the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense Vadima Skibitsky in an interview with Voennoe Televidenie.

"Today there is no direct threat (from Belarus - ed.) because there is no grouping of troops, no deployment of the control system of this grouping. This is the main element of the fact that there is a direct preparation for combat operations," Skibitsky explained.

He noted that the presence of seven BTGs of the Belarusian forces induces the Ukrainian command to act adequately, to strengthen reconnaissance.

"And this diverts resources and funds from our eastern front. Also, the constant movement of troops is aimed at keeping us in tension. Individual elements, tactical episodes of possible offensive actions from the territory of Belarus are being practiced," Skibitsky added.
