Egypt cancelled agreements on the supply of Ukrainian grain - Reuters

Egypt has decided to terminate contracts for the supply of 240,000 tons of Ukrainian grain. The agreements on four out of five batches have been cancelled.

This was reported by Reuters.

According to the agency's sources, the General Authority for the Supply of Goods of Egypt (GASC) has released the Ukrainian companies Nibulon and Inerco from obligations to supply grain.

Journalists write that four of the five shipments failed to load. The cancelled shipments were purchased in December at prices ranging from $346 to $360 per ton, including shipping costs.

After the war accelerated the rise in world grain prices, GASC paid $494.25 per ton of wheat in April. Another shipment of grain has already been loaded and is awaiting shipment from the port of Chernomorsk.

We shall remind you that on July 22, in Istanbul, Ukraine, Turkey, the UN and the Russian Federation reached an agreement on the export of grain from Ukrainian ports.

However, already on July 23, Russia launched a missile attack on the port of Odessa, breaking the agreements. Now the U.S. and Ukraine are developing a "plan B" for the export of grain.
