Danilov: Ukrainians need to prepare for a protracted war

Ukrainians should prepare for a protracted war with Russia. This was stated by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov in a comment to Radio Liberty.

"It will be very difficult, it will not be easy. And if someone thinks that we have already passed some kind of Rubicon and it will be smooth sailing from now on, it will not happen, unfortunately. We will have a big war with this country and we have to make a lot of efforts so that the victory is ours," he emphasized.

According to Danilov, only the complete neutralization of Russian aggression will mean victory in this war.

"We need to win such a victory that will eliminate the possibility of the Russian Federation to repeat all these things. We need such a victory that will break the backbone of the animal that sits on the territory of the Russian Federation, which constantly encroaches on foreign territories. If we don't do it now, it will just be a postponed war," Danilov believes.

Earlier, the Secretary of the National Security Council stated that Ukraine had actually been preparing for war since December 2019. At the same time, according to Danilov, Ukraine did not expect that Russia would attack it "simultaneously from all sides."
