In unrecognized Transnistria, the SSU was accused of planning an assassination attempt on its "president"

The "Ministry of State Security" of the unrecognized Transnistria announced the prevention of a terrorist attack against officials allegedly at the behest of the Security Service of Ukraine.

This is stated in the notification of the department.

"The Ministry of State Security of the PMR informs about the prevention of a terrorist attack. The crime, on the instructions of the Security Service of Ukraine, was prepared against a number of officials of the Transnistrian Moldavian Republic. The suspects have been detained. They are testifying," the message reads.

As Anatoliy Guretskyi, the prosecutor of PMR, told the First Transnistrian channel, the aim was allegedly to remove the "first persons of the state".

"The terrorist act was supposed to be carried out in the central part of the city of Tiraspol, in the place where a large gathering of citizens was expected," said Guretskyi.

It is reported that he was supposed to detonate a parked car with explosives when the Transnistrian officials were passing by. They allegedly found 8 kg of hexane, as well as screws, nuts and wires in the car.

On February 23, the Ministry of Defense of Russia spread false information that Ukrainian forces are allegedly planning an armed provocation in Transnistria in the near future. The authorities of Moldova and Ukraine denied this.

Moldova's Vice-Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebryan denied the statements of Russian propaganda and representatives of the unrecognized Transnistria that Chisinau, together with Kyiv, is preparing a military invasion of the left bank of the Dnister.
