After meeting with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in Moscow, Chinese leader Xi Jinping may call Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi.

 This is reported by the Financial Times.

 It should be noted that if the leaders of Ukraine and China do talk, it will be Xi's first direct contact with Zelenskyі after the full-scale invasion of Russia.

 "I think he (Xi - ed.) will make a call. China simply cannot afford to become a rival to both the US and Europe," said Yu Jie, a senior fellow at the Asia-Pacific Program on China at Chatham House.

 It will be recalled that the Chinese leader Xi Jinping has already arrived in Moscow.

 Let us add that the Chinese side noted that Xi Jinping, during his visit to Moscow, will defend an "objective and impartial" position regarding the Russian-Ukrainian war and will promote the need for a peaceful settlement.

 Instead, international analysts believe that Xi Jinping, during the meeting with Putin, may discuss Russia's evasion schemes from international sanctions imposed due to the invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine.
