Kim Jong Un and Putin to discuss arms supply at September meeting, - NYT

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is set to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin this month to discuss arms supplies and military cooperation, The New York Times reports.

Kim plans to travel from Pyongyang on an armored train to Vladivostok, where he will meet with Putin. The publication notes that a visit to Moscow is also being considered, but it has not yet been confirmed.

"Putin wants Kim to agree to send artillery shells and anti-tank missiles to Russia, and Kim would like Russia to provide North Korea with advanced technologies for satellites and nuclear submarines," the article says.

It is also noted that the DPRK leader is looking for food aid for his country.

The two leaders are expected to take part in the Eastern Economic Forum, which will be held from September 10 to 13 at the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok. Kim also plans to visit Pier 33, where warships of the Russian Pacific Fleet are stationed, and may visit the East Cosmodrome.
