Total mobilization is possible in Russia after the 2024 elections, - Danilov

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov believes that the real future of Russia is unclear, but in its current imperial form it will pose a threat to its neighbors, Europe and the world order. He expressed this opinion in a speech at the Halifax International Security Forum, the text of which is published on the NSDC website.

In particular, he emphasized that Russia's strategic goals are completely opposite to Ukraine's.

Danilov noted that the Kremlin is preparing for a long war to destroy the state of Ukraine and deepen Russian influence within the "Russian world."

He also pointed to Russia's destruction of the world order, violation of international acts, and the annexation of Crimea and invasion of Ukraine.

The NSDC Secretary called for preparations for a possible situation after Putin's inauguration in 2024 and expressed his belief that a controlled decomposition of Russia could be the most effective way to prevent repeated aggression.

Danilov noted the threat of a new "axis of evil" that could include the DPRK, China, Iran, and Russia, and warned that the West's response to the events in Ukraine could be complicated by other global conflicts and war fatigue.

However, he called for joint efforts to support Ukraine in the face of changes in the geopolitical environment.
