Zelensky and Nauseda sign a joint statement in Vilnius: what the document is about

Today, January 10, Presidents of Ukraine and Lithuania Volodymyr Zelensky and Gitanas Nauseda signed a joint statement in Vilnius. A number of bilateral documents were also signed in the presence of the heads of state. This was reported by the official website of the President of Ukraine.

The statement sets out an agreement to continue working together to ensure timely, predictable, and long-term military and financial support for Ukraine. The main points include the use of the EU's Ukraine Facility, the European Peace Fund, and the EU Military Assistance Mission to Ukraine.

The total amount of support from Lithuania to Ukraine exceeds 1 billion euros, which is 1.45% of the country's GDP.

The statement also noted that Lithuania will continue to provide military support to Ukraine, including demining, supply of weapons and military equipment, defense information exchange, and emphasis on the development of modern air defense systems, unmanned aerial vehicles, and other equipment.

Both sides reaffirmed their support for the Peace Formula initiated by Zelensky, which sets out the basis for a comprehensive, just and lasting peace. The presidents also support the holding of a Global Peace Summit in the near future.

Lithuania reaffirmed its full support for the recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine, focusing on schools, kindergartens and energy infrastructure. It also promised to continue this support in close coordination with Ukrainian and international partners.

The statement also expressed the intention to intensify cooperation on international platforms, including the international Crimean Platform, to strengthen the isolation of Russia and its accomplice Belarus.
