Romanian farmers have blocked the Halmeu-Dyakovo checkpoint on the border with Ukraine. This happened on the morning of January 18, the State Customs Service of Ukraine reports.

The Romanian side informed that the farmers blocked truck traffic in front of the Halmeu-Dyakovo international checkpoint. The border was blocked by large agricultural machinery.

The traffic of trucks leaving Ukraine has been temporarily suspended to prevent cars from being blocked. The duration of the blockade is still unknown.

According to the Customs Service, about 10 trucks are waiting to leave Ukraine, and 607 vehicles are in the queue. 

As we reported earlier, Romanian protesters plan to block the third checkpoint near the border with Ukraine. The action is expected to take place near the Halmeu-Dyakovo checkpoint in the morning of January 18.
