French Foreign Minister: Troops can be in Ukraine for non-combat needs

French Foreign Minister Stéphane Séjourné spoke about Paris' role in Ukraine and said that he is considering the possibility of "new actions" on Ukrainian territory "without crossing the threshold of belligerence," BFM TV reports.

"In the face of Russian attacks and the destabilization of Europe, we need to consider new actions in support of Ukraine. They must meet very specific needs," he said.

According to the minister, some actions in Ukraine may require foreign troops.

"I mean, in particular, demining, cyber operations and weapons production on Ukrainian territory. Some of these actions may require presence on Ukrainian territory without crossing the threshold of belligerence. Nothing can be ruled out. This war could end at any time if Russia decides to withdraw its troops from Ukraine," Séjourné emphasized.
