GUR reports fire on a Russian Coast Guard boat in the Sea of Azov

A fire was detected in the Sea of Azov on one of the coast guard boats of the FSB Border Service of the Russian Federation. This was reported by the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.


"On February 29, 2024, a fire was recorded in the waters of the Sea of Azov on one of the boats of the Coast Guard of the Russian FSB Border Service," the GUR said in a statement.


Allegedly, the fire engulfed the Russian vessel's wheelhouse.


"The enemy suffered losses in the amount of five occupants. The crew of the boat urgently requested an evacuation team," the agency said.


The causes of the fire and the nature of the losses are being clarified.
