Zelensky and Rutte sign security agreement

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte have signed a bilateral security agreement between Kyiv and Amsterdam. This is reported by the Office of the President.

The agreement enshrines Amsterdam's decision to continue to cooperate in order to further provide and expand assistance to Ukraine. The document will be valid for ten years from the date of signing.

In particular, it provides for the provision of military assistance from the Netherlands worth 2 billion euros in 2024 and continued support for the next 10 years.

"The document contains a powerful military block that provides Ukraine with modern military equipment and support for the defense industry. The priority is to provide air defense, artillery, armored vehicles, support for maritime and long-range capabilities and, in particular, the Air Force," the press service writes.

In the non-military sphere, it is planned to increase assistance to Ukraine in the following areas: economic recovery and reconstruction; countering hybrid threats; intelligence, cyber and information security; fighting organized crime; and critical infrastructure.

In particular, the document contains expanded blocks on: sanctions restrictions, compensation for damages and bringing Russia to justice; Dutch support for Ukraine's cultural heritage; Dutch support for Ukraine's future membership in the European Union and NATO.

"A mechanism of a 24-hour emergency response in case of repeated military aggression against Ukraine has been determined," the statement said.
