Vadym Mysnyk, a spokesman for the Operational Command "North", said in a commentary to Radio Liberty that there is currently no threat of a new Russian offensive on Sumy region. 

According to him, the Armed Forces are considering various options for the development of events in the region.

"However, we are currently not seeing a large enemy group for a large-scale invasion of Sumy region," he added.

In addition, the Ukrainian military in Sumy region are strengthening the fortifications of the first, second and third lines of defense.

"The Defense Forces in Sumy region are performing combat missions to hold the state border and prevent Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups and military from entering the region. Currently, the Defense Forces in the region are reinforcing the first, second and third lines," said Misnyk.

It is worth noting that recently Russian troops have significantly intensified shelling of border settlements in Sumy region.
