Currently not considering raising electricity tariffs - Energy Minister

The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine is not currently considering raising electricity tariffs for the population. This was stated by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko during a telethon.

He noted that electricity tariffs were raised last year as a result of large-scale Russian attacks on the energy sector.

"Without this decision, we would not have restored our energy sector and would not have gone through the winter the way we did - calmly, stably and without blackouts," Galushchenko said.

However, he said it is too early to talk about raising the tariffs.

"We don't yet understand the extent of the damage, we haven't made a full assessment of the damage and it's not clear what money is needed for restoration. Therefore, there are no projects or plans to change tariffs yet," Galushchenko added.
