The Ukrainian Armed Forces plan to go on the offensive after the Russian campaign ends. This was stated in an interview by the head of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

"Our goal is to prevent the loss of our territory, to exhaust the enemy as much as possible, to inflict the greatest possible losses on him, to form and prepare reserves for offensive actions," the chief said.

He also named Russia's goals. According to him, Russia plans to reach the borders of Donetsk and Luhansk regions and push the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the left bank of the Dnipro River in Zaporizhzhia region.

Syrskyi also gave a general assessment of the situation at the front:

  • The situation in certain directions remains tense but controlled. The Russian Federation continues its tactics of massive assaults with heavy losses, but its minor advances are only of tactical importance;
  • Russia maintains an advantage in manpower, artillery and mortar shells. The ratio of fired ammunition is 6:1. Although in some areas of the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to equalize the situation with artillery;
  • Russia has significantly increased the activity of aviation, using UAVs that destroy Ukrainian positions;
  • The Ukrainian Armed Forces fight on the basis of accuracy, not quantity of weapons, making the most of the advantage of drones.

But the Russians, according to the chief commander, "are trying to catch up with us in this effective type of weapon."
