Ministry of Energy urges not to spread information about the state of the power system and the consequences of Russian attacks

The Ministry of Energy has called on Ukrainians, government officials and private companies not to spread important information about the state of the energy system amid Russia's massive attacks.

The Cabinet of Ministers appealed to state and local authorities, public and private enterprises, companies, media representatives, experts, and ordinary Ukrainians.

Due to the intensified shelling, Ukrainians are asked to:

  • not to publicly disclose (on TV and radio, in the media, social media) detailed information about the consequences of the strikes;
  • not to name specific targets of hits;
  • not to provide details about specific objects and references to the area where there was or was not a hit;
  • do not specify the number of hits and the location of hits;
  • not to provide information in specific figures and indicators, such as blackouts, electricity shortages, etc.

The Ministry of Energy emphasizes that disclosure of this information is a threat, as enemy's intelligence works from open sources of information.

"Do not provide the enemy with valuable information that it will definitely use to further coordinate its actions and plan new attacks," the Ukrainians were urged.
