The Ministry of Defense explained what the abolition of the "limited fit" status means

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has published an explanation of what the abolition of the "limited fit" status means. The law signed by the President was published today and will come into force on May 4, 2024.

Conscripts and military personnel with the status of "limited fitness" must undergo a second military medical commission (MMC) within nine months, i.e. by February 4, 2025.

After the re-examination, conscripts who are found unfit will be removed from the military register, while those who are found fit can serve. Soldiers found unfit will be discharged from military service, while those found fit will continue to serve.

Within three months, the Cabinet of Ministers must approve an updated list of diseases for determining fitness/unfitness.
