Forbes on the situation in Ocheretyne: Some parts simply fell off

Forbes published an article detailing the events in Ocheretyne. According to the article, the Ukrainian Armed Forces abandoned their positions there, which allowed the Russians to advance in that direction.

The publication writes that the 115th Brigade was supposed to take the place of the 47th Brigade in the village, which was exhausted in the fighting. According to Mykola Melnyk, a company commander of the 47th Mechanized Brigade, something went wrong and "some units just fell off."

After that, the Russian 30th Motorized Rifle Brigade took over the abandoned positions.

"The bad news is that everything that went wrong with the 115th Mechanized Brigade seems to be somewhat systemic. This is the second Ukrainian unit to collapse on the eastern front in the last few weeks," the publication writes.

It is claimed that the first unit to suffer such a failure was the 67th Brigade, which defended Chasiv Yar but withdrew from a number of positions. The unit began to have "discord within the command staff".

"Kyiv cannot afford to lose two whole brigades right now - and it cannot afford to continue to strain its best brigades. Billions of dollars in fresh weapons are on the way, but those weapons are useless if there are not enough deployed, organized, well-rested units to use them," Forbes writes.

It is worth noting that official Kyiv has not confirmed the above-mentioned events, and the Armed Forces claim that the situation in Ocheretyne is under control. In turn, Deep State analysts confirm the Russian breakthrough in this direction.
