Polish government meeting was interrupted due to detected wiretapping: what happened

Polish special services have reported the discovery of listening devices in the hall where the meeting of ministers is taking place today, May 7.

According to Reuters, Poland, which is an important hub for Western supplies to Ukraine, is now on high alert for espionage.

Security spokesman Jacek Dobrzynski said that the State Guard, together with the Internal Security Agency, had discovered and dismantled devices that could have been used for eavesdropping in the room where the Council of Ministers was to meet in Katowice today.

Dobrzynski refrained from commenting on the origin of the devices. The meeting, scheduled for 10:00 GMT (13:00 Kyiv time), has been temporarily postponed.

Among the topics the ministers planned to discuss were energy policy, the phase-out of coal, and a program to mitigate the impact of high electricity prices on vulnerable households.
