Lithuania is ready to send military to Ukraine for training, but is waiting for a request from Kyiv

Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė said that her country is ready to send military personnel to Ukraine for training activities. However, Kyiv has not yet submitted an official request to do so.

According to the Financial Times, Prime Minister Šimonytė said that the Lithuanian parliament has already agreed to send troops to Ukraine to participate in the exercises, but so far no such request has been received from the Ukrainian government.

Šimonytė also admitted that Russia could perceive such a move as a provocation. However, she emphasized that the decision-making should not be limited to Moscow's reaction.

She noted that attacks on civilians in the region regularly inspire action to support Ukraine.
