Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with composer Igor Poklad and presented him with the Order of State with the title of Hero of Ukraine. This is reported by the press service of the head of state.
"Devoting your life to the art of music, you have become a true master. Without exaggeration, your music is the voice of Ukraine. Your songs are heard all over the world. These compositions belong to the best pearls of the national spiritual patrimony, without which it is impossible to imagine modern Ukrainian culture," Zelensky said, addressing the composer.
Composer and opera composer Igor Poklad is the author of over 150 songs, including musicals such as Konotopska Witch, Christmas Night, Moskal the Wizard, Zavatannaya - Unwedded, Such Jewish Happiness, Chmyr, rock opera Herod, etc. He worked fruitfully in cinema with directors Leonid Bykov, Andrei Benkendorf, Nikolai Zaseev in more than 40 feature and TV films. He wrote music for the animated films "How the Cossacks...", "Aeneid", etc.
