State Department recommends Americans not to travel to Ukraine

The US Department of State has advised Americans not to travel to Ukraine for several reasons. Among them are the threat from Russia and the situation with the coronavirus. This was reported by the U.S. State Department

"The State Department continues to advise American citizens not to travel to Ukraine because of COVID-19, as well as to reconsider travel to that country due to increased threats from Russia," the statement said.

The agency stressed that US citizens should be aware of reports that Russia is planning serious military actions against Ukraine. The State Department also reminded about the unpredictability of the situation, especially along the Ukrainian border with the Russian-occupied Crimea and Donbas.

The State Department warned Americans who had decided to travel to Ukraine about possible problems that could affect the work of the US embassy due to the Russian invasion.
