Enrollment for smartphones for vaccinated Ukrainians over the age of 60 will begin in April 2022, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov.

"In April, the first stage of the project will begin: enrollment of those who want to receive a smartphone. When the second stage - receiving smartphones - will begin depends on the manufacture of the devices themselves. We will announce this separately. But we plan to implement most of this project as early as this year," he said at a briefing to reporters at the Dia Summit on Tuesday.

What these devices will be, he said, has not yet been determined.

When asked about the source of funding for this project, the deputy prime minister did not answer. The smartphones are expected to reach 8.5 million citizens.
