Occupiers shelled Kharkiv with prohibited cluster munitions - Prosecutor's Office

The Russian occupants continue to use prohibited weapons - an investigation has been launched into the shelling of two districts of the city of Kharkiv with cluster shells, the Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office reported.

 

"According to the investigation, on the night of April 10, 2022, Russian servicemen carried out an artillery shelling with prohibited cluster shells PTM-1 in the Nemishlyanskiy and Kievskiy districts of Kharkiv. As a result, a number of residential buildings were damaged," the prosecutor's office reported.

 

Under the procedural supervision of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the investigators of the SBU Directorate of SSU in Kharkiv region initiated a pre-trial investigation into the violation of laws and customs of war (Part 1 Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

 

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated that Russia was dropping cluster bombs and other prohibited weapons on the territory of Ukraine.
