NATO expects new provocations in Moldova, but no military threats to the country

In unrecognized Transnistria, NATO expects further provocations aimed at creating a problem for Ukraine. There is no military threat to Moldova itself yet.

NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Joan said this in an interview with Romanian Digi24.

"We do not currently see military risks for Moldova or Georgia, another country under intense Russian pressure. However, we expect provocations, operations under a foreign flag - in order not to create problems for Moldova as much as for the Ukrainian forces in the west of the country and in the Odessa region," Mircea Joanne said.

He also noted the likelihood of attempts to destabilize Moldova.
