Kalush Orchestra will sell a Eurovision statuette to help the AFU

The winners of Eurovision 2022 Kalush Orchestra announced their intention to sell the statuette at an auction and donate the money for the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This was announced at a briefing by the leader of the group Oleg Psyuk.

"There are many people who can afford to donate a large amount to help Ukraine. This statuette will be an additional motivation to donate funds for the benefit of the country and the army. Soon we will put it up for auction, follow Kalush's Instagram page," Psyuk said.

In addition, the musician said that the band is planning a tour of European cities, where at each event they will raise money for the army and official foundations.

Psyuk noted that the band does not regret their action when in the finals of Eurovision-2022 Kalush Orchestra from the stage called to save the defenders of Azovstal, despite the risk of disqualification.

"200 million people watch the Eurovision final and I would blame myself more if I didn't do it than if I did and we were disqualified. Of course, I care more about the fate of the Ukrainian people than the statuette or the victory in principle, though it's important enough. I knew it wouldn't be cool if we were disqualified, but Ukraine would support our choice," he said.

He also expressed his gratitude to Azovstal defenders for their courage in fighting for all Ukraine. The musicians hope that the victory at the Eurovision Song Contest will bring closer the victory of the country in the war against Russia.
