Of the 32 brigades of the territorial defense forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, about 25 brigades in full strength or partially already take part in combat operations, Sergei Sobko, chief of the headquarters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said.

"All in all, of the 32 existing brigades of the territorial defense forces, about 25 brigades in full strength or in part are already taking part in combat operations," Sobko said at a briefing at the Ukraine Media Center in Kyiv on Tuesday.

He stressed that the soldiers of the AFU TDF have been taking an active part in combat operations practically since the first day of the full-scale aggression.

"Our units and subunits played an important role in the defense and liberation of the Kiev, Chernigov and Sumy regions. For about 80 days the defense of Mariupol continues, and a number of units of the Donetsk brigade of territorial defense forces are still performing tasks there and are now at "Azovstal" together with their brethren from other branches and types," Sobko said.

He added that the Kharkiv brigade, after long and successful defensive battles, takes part in counteroffensive actions.

"And, as you know, the day before yesterday they came to one of the borders of our state border," Sobko noted.
